Midland Middle School Cheerleaders spreading holiday cheer!

The three Midland schools came together to have a canned food drive to support the Lacon Food Pantry from November 27 – December 15. The initial goal of each of the three schools was to collect 500 pounds of non-perishable items per school. The principals volunteered to spend the day working outside for a day in January if each of their schools surpassed their goal.
Midland Elementary School students and staff collected an impressive 1,400 pounds of non-perishable items. Midland Middle School students and staff collected a whopping 850 pounds of non-perishable items. Midland High School students and staff donated an amazing 3,238 pounds of non-perishable items. The total weight of items donated was 5,488!
The three principals’ along with some extra volunteers delivered the food to the Lacon Food Pantry on Friday, Dec. 15. All three principals mentioned how wonderful it was to see the students come together and have such a positive impact on the community. The initiative showcased an enormous amount of community spirit. They praised the students for their generosity and teamwork, highlighting the valuable lessons learned about making a positive difference in the community.
